Will it work? Let’s find out.

Testing Testing – Roger One
I am trying to set up a Facebook page for my blog. It’s quite interesting and confusing and frustrating!
My issue is that I want comments to come to the blog, not on the FB page and since it’s a fan page you don’t have access to the same settings as a regular profile.
This is actually a test post to see if it works. Bear with me. There may be a few coming…
WHY? Wednesdays
I have decided to introduce a new topic just for Wednesday’s posts…they will be called “WHY? Wednesday”
Feel free to participate! Send me your WHY? Wednesday moment and I will include in a future WHY? Wednesday post. Also, as with this entire blog, please feel free to leave comments.
So here goes…the first official WHY? Wednesday post is:
When you are waiting for the elevator and the button is already pressed, and lit up, why do people insist on pushing it again? Will it make the elevator come faster?
Brought to you by WHY? Wednesday.
Feedback Request
This is just a request for feedback on the blog so far. I am two and a half months in and I am looking to get feedback on what has been written so far.
If you’ve been following along, you know it’s very much a work in progress. It took some time to find my sea legs, and then some more time to play catch up from the Argentina trip. I am not going to apologize for not knowing exactly how to blog, or for going on vacation and not checking in – it was VACATION after all! This is simply a work in progress, and I hope you continue to bear with me through it.
Are there certain blogs you love reading, are some pointless and annoying (like this one) — feel free to share. I’ve got tough skin, and besides, I am asking for it! Bring it on!
Feel free to post your feedback as a comment on this post or email it to simplythreecents@rocketmail.com
Thank you!
31 days, 31 posts
And it is the last day of January (full disclosure: it’s not the last day yet at the very moment I am writing this, because I am writing this days in advance – I love this schedule feature!)
But this will post on the last day of January. 31 days, 31 posts. If only I kept all of my new year’s resolutions until the end of January. So many haven’t even started yet…are they even considered resolutions if they begin in March? Or September?
In the meantime, on to February!
Scheduling Posts
Loving this. So when the mood hits I can write and write and write and then I have posts that I can schedule ahead of time. Of course, if I have something timely, I can post again the same day OR I can just edit the scheduled time and date of the previously scheduled blog. Fantastic!
I will be at my cousin’s wedding this weekend. If this post does not get pre-empted, I have scheduled it to post at 7p EST on Saturday. That’s just about the time that I hope to be ordering my first cocktail at the reception. See, not only do I get to pick the day, but the time too!
Cheers!
Challenge Accepted
WordPress has challenged bloggers to post once a day in 2011.
Challenge accepted. I even upped this challenge by figuring out how to include an image. (Hopefully it works when I publish the post. Update: it did!!)
I am slightly caveating this challenge with if I miss a day, or two or three, I will try and make catch up posts so I have (at least) 365 posts by December 31, 2011.
I know it won’t be easy, but it might be fun, inspiring and rewarding. I’m promising to make use of The DailyPost, and the blogger community (that I will need to figure out) with similiar goals, to help me along the way, including asking for help when I need it and encouraging others when I can.
If you already read my blog, I hope you’ll encourage me with comments, likes and goodwill along the way.
We’re six days into 2011 and I already have six posts. I’d say that’s a good start so far.
Something
What to write? I wanted to make sure I wrote something today, so here it is.
Something.
No seriously, I think for days that I have brain farts (like today), I might post old letters that I’ve written and sent to companies. They are entertaining and they’re already written 😉 But not today….have to build suspense. Ha ha.
Resolutions
Funny how spring cleaning moves to January in my home. New year, new start. It’s a great motivator and one of my resolutions. Plus, the weather isn’t so great this time of year so it’s a perfect time to clean house and pare down the year’s clutter.
I’ve compiled bags of clothes to donate and thrown out at least four garbage bags of crap in the past three days. Seriously, stuff I didn’t even know I still had, or wanted. A textbook from college. Pictures with people that I don’t even know. Really?
I have moved a lot so I thought I was already traveling light. Now, even lighter.
I always start the new year with a list of resolutions – that I usually give up on by March. This year, my resolution is to stick with at least one of my resolutions. I’ve got it down to five (usually, it’s close to ten).
Readers – if you’re out there (which I realize is highly unlikely since this blog is just a day old)…do you have any interesting resolutions?
A New Year’s Resolution
Happy New Year! So it’s the first day of 2011 and I am getting a jump start on my new years resolution — start a blog!
Actually, no, not really. Starting a blog WAS a resolution…for 2010. Better late than never, right?
I see ‘simply three cents’ running the gamut from social missteps (showing up at a writing class without a notebook), klutzy moves (falling off the treadmill at the gym), letters I have sent to companies offering unsolicited advice and suggestions (including nearly every US airline), travelogues (got bit by the bug a long time ago), perpetual bad luck (needing a Tetanus shot after a pedicure gone wrong) and my opinions of golf umbrellas in midtown Manhattan (hate them!).
If you find yourself here, stick around. I am not exactly sure what will wind up on here and I am not exactly sure how to use the site but I am confident I will figure both out along the way.
And if you are wondering about the title, well, a penny for your thoughts and my two cents makes simply, three cents.
